Miguel Poveda is one of the most interesting and distinctive voices in flamenco. This artist, winner of the 2007 National Music Prize, the Chair of Flamencology of Jerez, the Medal of Andalusia in 2012, Adopted Son of Seville and La Unión (Murcia), and Favorite Son of Badalona, with more than 30 years of professional experience, has built his career with love and perseverance, inspired by the great figures of music, without losing his roots, yet without genre boundaries and with freedom as his banner.
Throughout his career, the artist has earned recognition from audiences and critics alike with humility and gratitude, but also with a commitment to improving himself day by day. His numerous collaborations with artists—not only from flamenco but also from other genres, styles, and disciplines such as Bigas Luna, Paco de Lucía, Serrat, Eva Yerbabuena, Alejandro Sanz, Chavela Vargas, Miguel Ríos, Sabina, and Vicente Amigo, among others—confirm him as one of the most relevant artists on the music scene.
On the occasion of the fifteenth anniversary of Coplas del Querer, Miguel Poveda’s best-selling album—gold and platinum record, and awarded three Music Awards—the artist brings it back to the stage to reaffirm the artistic value of songs that are part of our musical history, adding new versions to those already recorded.
