CCIB, a benchmark shaped by Fira de Barcelona
Barcelona International Convention Centre
The Barcelona International Convention Centre (CCIB), managed by Fira de Barcelona since November 2021, has become a leading European venue for hosting international congresses, conventions, and events.
The CCIB comprises two architecturally significant buildings, the Convention Centre and the CCIB Forum Auditorium, connected by an underground connecting walkway. With a total surface area of approximately 100,000 m² and capacity for up to 15,000 delegates, both buildings stand out for their scale and the exceptional versatility of their interior spaces.
Inaugurated in 2004 for the Universal Forum of Cultures, the CCIB enjoys a privileged location in the modern and cosmopolitan city of Barcelona, within the city’s technology and business district known as 22@.
The Convention Centre, designed by renowned Spanish architect Josep Lluís Mateo, is the main building. It features 46 meeting rooms across five levels, designed to highlight natural light and minimise visual impact.
The Forum Building, designed by the renowned Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, has become one of the most iconic architectural landmarks of contemporary Barcelona. Inside the building is the CCIB Forum Auditorium, a versatile, large-capacity venue with 3,084 seats and 12 spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility.
